We are a three-attorney firm based in Lawrence, Kansas. Chris Coons grew up in Memphis. He has been practicing bankruptcy law since 2001. Shannon Garrett grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, and has been practicing bankruptcy law since 2003. Anne Kealing grew up in Lawrence and has been practicing bankruptcy since 2010.

We concentrate on individual and family bankruptcies. Our clients are either working for a paycheck, self-employed contractors, or have small businesses. Our clients are from Northeast Kansas - Fort Riley, Manhattan, Topeka, Ottawa, Lawrence, Leavenworth, Oskaloosa, and Overland Park.

We concentrate mostly on families and individuals because we see the biggest benefit to them when they file for bankruptcy. Most of our folks do not have much in the way of "luxuries." They do not have big stockbroker accounts; they are just regular people who are loaded up with debt. We find that a simple, clean, well-drafted bankruptcy filing will enable a family to keep the property it needs, put money in its pocket, and give it a chance to get financially healthy again. We focus on this market because we can file a lot of cases and get a lot of families back on track.
